The Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Nevada would like to ask you to take a few moments to complete the 2008 Compensation Survey. Purpose: To provide opportunities for the assimilation of young lawyers into the profession as well as a training ground for future leaders of our bar. YLS membership is open to all attorneys who have been admitted in Nevada for less than five years, or are 36 years old or younger. From mentor programs, to organizing charity events, to networking, to fighting to improve the image of attorneys in general, YLS has a wide array of activities.

Stephanie Hardie Allen (Chair)

 

Stephanie Hardie Allen is an associate with the law firm of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner & Renshaw in the Land Use and Government Affairs department. She practices in the area of zoning and land use. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Finance with a minor in Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno, in 1999. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2003. While in law school, Stephanie was Book Review Editor for the Nevada Law Journal. She also was a member of the Society of Advocates Negotiations Team, placing first in the Regional Negotiations Competition and placing in the top ten in the National Negotiations Competition.
 

Laura K. Granier (Chair-elect)


Laura Granier is an associate in Lionel Sawyer & Collins' Administrative Law Department. Her practice includes administrative litigation and judicial review of regulatory agency decisions. In addition, Laura practices in the areas of eminent domain, Indian gaming, public utility regulation, financial institutions, state tax law, and gaming law. Laura received her J.D. from U.C. Davis School of Law in May 2000, graduating number two in her class. She served as Executive Director of the U.C. Davis Law Review and, upon graduation, clerked for the Honorable Procter Hug, Jr., then Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Laura serves on the Board of Trustees for the Nevada Public Education Foundation, on the Advisory Board for the University of Nevada, Reno College of Liberal Arts and on the State Bar of Nevada CLE Publications Committee.

 

Ryan Works (Secretary)


Ryan Works is an associate in the law firm of McDonald Carano Wilson, LLP, working primarily in the areas of business and commercial litigation, creditor and debtor rights, bankruptcy and insolvency and government affairs. Mr. Works has been with the Firm for five years and he is licensed to practice before all of the state and federal courts of Nevada. He has successfully represented his clients’ interests at the administrative level, district court, federal and bankruptcy courts, as well as the Las Vegas City Council and Nevada State Legislature. Mr. Works received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2000. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2004. He was the Nevada Law Editor for the Nevada Law Journal and a national finalist for the Society of Advocates National Moot Court Team.
 

Paola M. Armeni


Paola M. Armeni is an associate with Gordon & Silver, Ltd., where her concentration is criminal defense litigation. Prior to entering private practice, Paola clerked for the Honorable Joseph T. Bonaventure at the Eighth Judicial District Court in Las Vegas, Nevada. She graduated in 2003 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, William S. Boyd School of Law. Paola was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2003.
 

Kendelee Leascher Works


­Kendelee Leascher Works is an associate with the law firm of Marquis & Aurbach. She practices in the area of civil litigation focusing on contract and real estate disputes and commercial litigation. Kendelee received her bachelor of arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2002. She earned her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2005. Kendelee served as President of the Student Bar Association, was a member of the Society of Advocates, and graduated in the top third of her class. She also earned third place individual speaking honors at the Philip C. Jessup International Law, Southwest Regional Moot Court Competition.

 

Jasmine K. Mehta



Jasmine Mehta is an associate with Lewis and Roca LLP, practicing in the firm’s Commercial Litigation and Environmental and Natural Resources Practice Groups. Prior to entering private practice, Jasmine clerked for the Honorable Deborah A. Agosti at the Nevada Supreme Court and, prior to that, for Judge Dan L. Papez and Judge Steve Dobrescu at the Seventh Judicial District Court in Ely, Nevada. She graduated in 2001 from the UCLA School of Law and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Boston University in 1997. Jasmine was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2001 and the State Bar of Nevada in 2002.

 

Megan Barker Bowen

Megan Barker Bowen is a banking and finance associate with Jones Vargas. Megan previously clerked for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Gregg W. Zive. She graduated in 2000 from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Megan was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2000.
 

Micheline N. Fairbank

Micheline Fairbank is a litigation associate with Armstrong Teasdale, LLP, in their Reno office. Her practice primarily consists of civil litigation matters, including construction industry claims, employment and labor matters, water and wastewater transactions, and real property development matters. She received her bachelor of arts in Political Science from Western State College of Colorado in 1996 and her law degree from Willamette University College of Law in 1999. Prior to her admission to the practice of law, Micheline worked with the Nevada Legislative Counsel Bureau until 2001 and then provided assistance to communities and utilities throughout the State with their water and waste water systems. Micheline was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2002 and the State Bar of California in 2003.
 

Jeremy Reichenberg


Jeremy Reichenberg is a Deputy District Attorney for the Lyon County District Attorney’s Office. Jeremy received his J.D. from University of Nebraska, College of Law in 2006. Jeremy was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2006 and the State Bar of Nevada in 2007.
 

Tabitha Fiddyment (Ex-Officio Budget Officer)

Tabitha Fiddyment is an associate in the government affairs/land use & zoning department of Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw and Ferrario. Tabitha received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1999. She received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2003. Tabitha was admitted to the State Bar of Nevada in 2004 and the State Bar of Washington in 2006.
