Responsibilities
The State Bar of
Nevada Diversity Committee’s primary role is to promote and
encourage a more diverse Bar association, with the goal that the
association becomes a model for inclusion.
Diversity is ever
changing; therefore the committee, in defining its goals and
objectives, chose to avoid any definitions on what diversity means.
The simple act of defining diversity could potentially place limits
on the programs initiated by the committee.
The committee will
work to develop programs and initiatives designed to include
minorities and underrepresented groups, without defining such --
thus allowing the committee to be inclusive and flexible, without
creating barriers and restrictions.

Minority
Attorney Involvement with the State Bar of Nevada
The Committee’s goal is to develop
avenues to invigorate more diversity in association activities and
in its membership. The committee will look at the current membership
to identify those minority and underrepresented members who aren’t
actively participating in Bar activities, determine why, and then
ultimately recruit those minority and underrepresented individuals
and encourage their involvement.
