Question #3 (Added Jan. 29, 2008)
Question from McQueen HS: Phil
and I have three students who are attending other school functions during the
state mock trial tournament. We have two teams enrolled for the regional
competition. If we have one team win at regionals,
can we collapse our two teams together to have a viable team for the state tournament?
They cannot do
"that". The team has to remain the same as it is when they compete at
regionals.
Question # 2 (Added Jan. 22, 2008)
The Mock Trial Case Committee has
received two inquiries concerning potentially conflicting information in two
witness statements, the Police Report, and the accident diagram. These
“inconsistencies” are part of the Case Problem. Accordingly, students
should be prepared to incorporate this information into their trial
preparation, including, but not limited to, questioning of specific witnesses.
Question # 1
Is the
diagram of the crash scene part of the police report or should it be admitted
separately?
The diagram is part of the Police Report
in Exhibit 2. Students should consult
the Federal Rules of Evidence concerning its admissibility.
