The Street Law, Inc. program is coming to Nevada!!

Parents and the Law (PAL) is a program that provides practical information and skill-building activities designed to help teens and young parents evaluate and understand the legal situations they face. PAL program is not delivering legal advice or assistance, but rather helping young parents learn general principles of practical law, and develop resiliency skills.

Your help is needed to make the program more Nevada-focused by briefly responding to general questions. Attorneys with Family Law and Real-Estate backgrounds are needed to address the subject matter ranging from child support; discipline, abuse or neglect; consumer laws, housing discrimination, domestic violence, and more.  Law students, clerks & paralegals may also be able to help.

If you are interested in helping make the adaptations to the lessons, contact Cathi Britz at (702) 317-1416 or
cathib@nvbar.org.  I will send the file to you electronically, if that is alright with you.

The adaptations to the lessons are needed by May 23.

The Law Related Education program is co-hosting a new program called Project R.E.A.L.  Classes get to sit in and observe a real courtroom in session and then a volunteer attorney will do a follow up visit a few weeks later to go over what the students saw in the courtroom and answer questions about the judicial system.  Interested in more information about these exciting tours teachers?  Contact Marcia Ellis   marciae@nvbar.org

We are also looking for volunteer attorneys to visit the classrooms, interested in volunteering a few hours for this great program attorneys?  Please contact us!
