How can I change my address?

 

Changes to a bar member's address, phone, fax number and e-mail may be made my completing the Address Change Form.

 

What should I do if I lose my Bar Card?

 

Should you need a replacement card please call the Member Services Department at: 702-382-2200 or 702-317-1430 to request a substitute card (no charge).

 

Where can I get a Certificate of Good Standing?

 

A certificate of good standing can be requested in writing by contacting the Membership Services Department.

 

How do I change my status from active to inactive?

 

An active member, if in good standing, may be enrolled as an inactive member upon written request, and there shall be no rebate of any membership fee after March 1 of the year in which such request is filed. Inactive members are not required to take the bar exam again to become active.

 

How do I change my status from inactive to active?

 

An inactive member, if in good standing, may be enrolled as an active member upon written request and completion of application, and payment of all registration fees required plus a $1 reinstatement fee.

 

Where can I find information about resigning from the State Bar of Nevada?

 

Any member of the State Bar who is not actively engaged in the practice of law in this state, upon written application on a form approved by the State Bar may resign from membership in the State Bar if the member (1) has no discipline, fee dispute arbitration, or clients' security fund matters pending and (2) is current on all membership fee payments and other financial commitments relating to the member's practice of law in Nevada. Such resignation shall become effective when filed with the State Bar, accepted by the Board of Governors, and approved by the Supreme Court.
