DEAN’S COLUMN - TIME TO SAY GOODBYE
BY DEAN RICHARD MORGAN
With June 30 rapidly approaching and with this being my last column for the Nevada Lawyer, it is time to say goodbye. Well, not really goodbye, since I will still be in the community and in touch with many of you; it’s more like goodbye as dean and hello as Dick Morgan, part-time retiree and continuing participant in the life of our profession and community.
With the law school well-established and regarded, I am anxious to move on to the next phase of my life. In addition to spending more time with family and at Brian Head, I look forward to a number of part-time professional opportunities in the private sector, including service on some compliance committees and boards, an of counsel relationship, and some consulting work and engagements. I also look forward to continuing my service on a number of community and professional boards and committees. It should be a fun future, with a nice balance of work and leisure opportunities and activities.
It certainly has been a fun past. I have thoroughly enjoyed my 10 years as founding dean of the William S. Boyd School of Law. All of you in our profession have been most supportive and most welcoming. Without your help, we could not have built the Boyd School of Law as rapidly as we have.
Thanks for all that you have done for me and for our school. Like you, I look forward to watching the continued progress of the school, and I hope that you will continue your support as the school matures and improves in the future.
I look forward to staying in touch. Thanks for everything.
