DIRECTOR OF CONTINUING LEGAL EDUCATION

 

The Director of Continuing Legal Education manages the continuing legal education department of the State Bar of Nevada. The director works with committees and volunteers to determine the strategic direction of the continuing legal education program. The director is responsible for developing and implementing seminars and programs for continuing education credit the programs, including seminars and alternative delivery programs. This person develops the marketing plan for all continuing legal education programs and is responsible for sales. Additionally the director plans, markets and manages the State Bar Annual meeting. As head of the department the director supervises a staff and has responsibility for developing and implementing an annual budget.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs and manage the continuing legal education program for the State Bar

  • Conducts long range planning and strategic guidance for the program

  • Manages education department staff

  • Works with relevant committees in planning and implementing programs

  • Conducts needs assessments and surveys of the members to develop new educational activities and products

  • Evaluates and fosters joint venture programs

  •  Works with seminar speakers in planning programs

  • Develops and monitors a yearly budget covering seminars

  • Establishes the yearly schedule of CLE seminars, institutes and conferences

  • Develops and implements overall plan for marketing efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors degree required

  • Minimum 5 years experience at a supervisory level

  • Demonstrated experience in education program planning, execution and evaluation

  • Detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects

  • Ability to operated strategically, identifying opportunities for member programs

  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical written and oral communication skills

  • Experience with development of alternative delivery formats including teleconferences and web casts

  • Ability to plan, manage and meet budget goals

  • Strong project management skills

  • Experience with working with volunteers
