Commission on Judicial Discipline Seeking Alternate Member

Applications Sought for Commission on Judicial Discipline: Alternate Member 

The Commission on Judicial Discipline is seeking applicants for an alternate member from Washoe County. The appointment begins on January 6, 2013 and lasts four years. Term limits do not exist for this position and the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada will appoint an attorney member to fill the vacancy.
The alternate member serves when the appointed member is disqualified or unable to serve, or when a vacancy exists.  
The Commission on Judicial Discipline was created by the Nevada Constitution as an amendment to investigate allegations of judicial misconduct in office, violations of the Code of Judicial Conduct, or disability of judges. Meetings are held approximately six times per year and as necessary by telephone and conference. Some travel is required.
