Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Court has Vacancy
Due to the retirement of the Honorable Bruce Markell, the Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit is accepting applications for the position of Bankruptcy Judge for the District of Nevada. Candidates must be admitted to practice before the highest court of at least one state, the District of Columbia or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico; be a member in good standing in all states in which membership is held; and have minimum five years of legal practice experience. Terms on this court are 14 years with renewal subject to reappointment procedures. The annual salary for this position is $160,080.
All applications are screened by a Merit Screening Committee and then those who are selected for interviews appear before the Judicial Council committee which will submit a nomiation to the Court of Appeals. The nominee must pass FBI and IRS background checks before being appointed.
