Richard Glasson Named Judge of the Year
The Nevada Judges of Limited Jurisdiction (NJLJ) recently chose Tahoe Township Justice of the Peace Richard Glasson as Judge of the Year.
Glasson has been a Justice of the Peace for the Tahoe Justice Court since 2000 and is known for his willingness to mentor other judges and help out in times of crisis. He is also known for his love of outdoor sports – Glasson frequently rides his bicycle to work and, in winter months, will snowshoe or ski to the court. Glasson graduated from McGeorge Law School and prior to taking a seat on the bench he was a trial attorney in Stateline, Nevada.
“He does everything the association has asked of him and more. And he never seeks credit for what he does,” NJLJ President Judge Tina Brisebill said.
Glasson was selected by the NJLJ, a group that represents justices of the peace and municipal court judges, for his dedication to improving the judiciary in our state. Glasson was presented with the award at the NJLJ Winter Seminar on February 1.
“Judge Glasson’s contributions to the Nevada Judiciary and the citizens he serves make the Judge of the Year award a well-deserved honor,” Chief Justice Kristina Pickering said.
