Nevada Supreme Court Rule Changes (ADKTs)

ADKT 0512: On Feb. 2, 2016, the Nevada Supreme Court filed a petition proposing amendments to Part V of the Rules of Practice for Nevada's Eighth Judicial District Court.

ADKT 0511: On Dec. 17, 2015 the Nevada Supreme Court filed a petition proposing amendments to NRCP 16.1, 16.1(b)(1), and 16.1(e)(1) and (2) regarding pretrial discovery requirements.

ADKT 0244: On Dec. 17, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court entered an order in ADKT 0244 issuing appointments and re-appointments of settlement judges. Terms began Jan. 4, 2016.

ADKT 0435: On Dec. 14, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an order amending the Foreclosure Mediation Rules to comply with with new legislation: Senate Bill 512. The order becomes effective on Jan. 14, 2016.

ADKT 0507: On Dec 2, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an order extending the deadline for the commission to study the creation and administration of guardianships in Nevada’s courts to file its report on its findings and recommendations. The new deadline is July 1, 2016. On June 24, the Nevada Supreme Court authorized the chief justice to appoint and chair a commission of no more than 30 members for this purpose.

ADKT 0504: On November 126, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an order amending NRAP 36 (Entry of Judgment) regarding unpublished dispositions and repealing SCR 123. The order becomes effective on Jan. 1, 2016 and shall apply to orders issued on or after that date.

ADKT 0510: On November 6, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an invitation for written comment regarding proposed changes to Nevada Rule of Appellate Procedure 3C, regarding fast track appeals. Comments must be submitted by 5 p.m. on December 4, 2015. In addition, the court has scheduled a public hearing regarding the proposed change, to be held on December 10, 2015, at 1:30 p.m.

ADKT 0505: On November 5, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court entered an order amending SCR 105, regarding attorney discipline. The order becomes effective December 5, 2015.

ADKT 0509: On Sept. 22, 2015, Judge Nancy Porter filed a petition to amend the rules of practice for the Fourth Judicial District to adopt and add Rule 22, regarding the American Bar Association's Standards of Practice for Attorneys Representing Parents in Abuse and Neglect Cases. The petition was filed on September 30, 2015.

ADKT 0506: The Nevada Supreme Court issued an order amending several Supreme Court Rules regarding attorney discipline. This order becomes effective October 3, 2015. 

ADKT 0458: The Nevada Supreme Court issued an order regarding the composition of the Standing Committee on Judicial Ethics. This order becomes effective October 3, 2015. 

ADKT 0385: The Nevada Supreme Court has issued an order amending the Nevada Rules of Appellate Procedure, allowing pro se litigants to file briefs and other documents. The order becomes effective October 1, 2015. 

ADKT 0481: On June 30, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an order amending Supreme Court Rule 7.5 to reflect the formation of the Nevada Court of Appeals and Nevada's Eleventh Judicial District. The order becomes effective July 30, 2015.

ADKT 0424: On June 24, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an invitation for written comment regarding a petition seeking amendment of Section B, Part IX-A, Rules Governing Appearance by Simultaneous Audiovisual Transmission Equipment for Criminal Proceedings. Comments must be submitted by 5 p.m. on July 10, 2015.

ADKT 0502: On May 22, the Nevada Supreme Court entered an order in ADKT 0502, adopting rule 16.215 of the Nevada Rules of Civil Procedure, regarding child witnesses. The rule shall become effective 60 days from the date of the order.

ADKT 0362: On May 21, the Nevada Supreme Court entered an order in ADKT 0362, amending Supreme Court Rule 10 regarding the Senior Judge Program. The amendments shall become effective 30 days from the date of the order.

ADKT 0297: The Nevada Supreme Court has approved the amendment of Supreme Court Rule 9, allowing the Chief Judge of the Nevada Court of Appeals to be a member of the Judicial Council of the State of Nevada. 

ADKT 0494: On February 9, 2015, the Nevada Supreme Court issued an ADKT that amends Eighth Judicial District Court Rules 2.49, 2.50 and adopts a new rule, 4.41; all such rules impact Juvenile Dependency judges, hearing masters and assignment of cases. Rule changes are effective 30 days from the date of this order.
