The State Bar of Nevada's LRE section helps children grades K-12 learn about the law, the legal system, and their rights and responsibilities through activities that promote cooperative learning, problem solving, and positive interactions between them and members of the legal community.

What's New?...

The winner of our We the People State Competition held on Feb. 16th:

1st Place - Reed HS

2nd Place - Bishop Gorman HS

3rd Place - Damonte Ranch HS

We are all so proud of all the schools that participated this year in the We the People program. Thank you to all the teachers and coaches that helped the schools!!

Reed HS will now go on to represent Nevada at the National We the People competition in Washington, DC May 3-5. If you would like to help coach the team or provide fund raising assistance for the team's travel, contact Marcia Ellis at marciae@nvbar.org or 702.317.1408

The winners of the Mock Trial Regional Competition held on Feb. 9th:

Southern Regional - Bishop Gorman HS(Orange Team) and Advanced Technologies HS(Silver Team)

Northern Region - Reno HS and Galena HS

State Competition with these four teams will be held Friday night, February 22 (4:30p-7:30p) and Saturday, February 23 (7:45a-3:30p) in Las Vegas at the Family Court Building

The Law Related Education program is co-hosting a new program called Project R.E.A.L. Classes get to sit in and observe a real courtroom in session and then a volunteer attorney will do a follow up visit a few weeks later to go over what the students saw in the courtroom and answer questions about the judicial system.
