State Bar of Nevada Adds Construction Law Section

 

The Board of Governors of the State Bar of Nevada has approved the formation of a Construction Law Section. The purpose of this section is to further enhance the knowledge of members of the section, the members of the State Bar of Nevada and the members of the judiciary in all aspects of construction law and to assist the Board of Governors in the implementation of programs, policies and guidelines relevant to this field of law.

Supreme Court Supports the State Bar of Nevada’s Annual Meeting

 

Many members of the Supreme Court of Nevada will be on hand for next week’s State Bar of Nevada annual meeting in Santa Barbara, Calif. Members will hear from Chief Justice Mark Gibbons on Friday, June 20, when he presents a “State of the Court” speech.  Also on Friday, retiring Justice A. William Maupin will be in attendance at a special evening banquet in his honor.

 

Nevada’s justices will also lend their experience and knowledge to many of the CLE presentations at this year’s event. Among those are Friday’s CLE on “Bench and Bar Issues” and the “Access to Justice” CLE program. This year’s meeting takes place June 18-21.  But it’s not too late to sign up! Tomorrow, June 13, 2008, the UNLV Boyd School of Law is holding a free lecture and reception titled “The State of Immigration in Nevada: The Immigration Consequences of Criminal Activity.” This lecture, part of the school’s 10-Year Anniversary CLE Lecture Series, is scheduled for June 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas and Mack Moot Court Facility.
