New Laws: The Model Resident Agent Act
As a result of the passage of SB 242 during the 2007 session of the Nevada Legislature, new laws regarding the duties of resident agents in Nevada went into effect Tuesday, July 1, 2008.
The new laws change the term “resident agent” to “registered agent,” create two categories of registered agents and change the requirements for provisions regarding the address the registered agents file with the Secretary of State. Most of the changes made under The Model Resident Agent Act (MoRAA) are designed to make Nevada consistent with other states.
For more information on the changes, see the Secretary of State’s press release, and for forms and regulation workshop dates, visit the Nevada Secretary of State’s office or visit their website at http://www.nvsos.gov/. ________________________________________________________________________ |
