Nevada Law Related Education providers coming together to help our community understand how our government and legal systems work.

About the LRE Consortium

The Law Related Education Consortium was created by the State Bar of Nevada in 2011 to help further the goal of promoting civic education and awareness in Nevadans.  For more information, or to join the LRE Consortium, please e-mail or call Kathleen Dickinson, the Law Related Education Coordinator at or 702-317-1408.

Access to Justice Commission

The State Bar of Nevada’s Access to Justice Commission is designed to help ensure those of limited means still have access to legal resources and assistance and to assess such needs in the state of Nevada.  Access to Justice works closely with the Supreme Court of Nevada to help meet their goals.


American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)

The ACLU of Nevada is an affiliate of the national ACLU, and it was founded in 1966.  ACLU stands for American Civil Liberties Union. The ACLU is a nationwide organization that advocates for civil liberties and civil rights of all people in the United States.  Civil liberties and civil rights are the basic rights guaranteed to all people by law and protect citizens from actions by government that are illegal under constitutional law.

Boyd School of Law

William S. Boyd School of Law, UNLV

The University of Nevada Las Vegas’ Boyd School of Law holds the distinction of being the only law school in the state of Nevada.  Boyd is committed to helping students of all ages understand the law and how the law can positively impact their life.

Clark County Law Foundation

The Clark County Law Foundation is part of the Clark County Bar Association and was formed in 1993.  The CCLF participates in LRE programs such as Trial By Peers.

Clark County School District

Clark County School District is the fifth largest in the country and serves more than 300,000 students of the greater Las Vegas area, including Henderson, Boulder City, North Las Vegas and Mesquite, as well as outlying areas such as Mount Charleston, Blue Diamond and Laughlin.

Juvenile Justice Services

A division of Clark County, the Department of Juvenile Justice Services offers guidance, intervention services and control for youth who are involved in delinquent activities and are 18 years-old or younger.  Juvenile Justice Services wants to hold delinquent youth accountable for their behaviors, while helping them realize their full potential through treatment services and programs.

Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada

The Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN) is a nonprofit corporation that helps those in need by providing free legal services.  LACSN has been helping Nevadans since 1958 and is dedicated to the preservation of access to justice.

Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association

The Las Vegas Chapter of the National Bar Association (LVNBA) was originally founded in 1981 and is a civil rights bar at its core. The LVNBA has a predominantly African-American membership and is an affiliate of the National Bar Association, which was founded in 1925 and is the nation’s oldest and largest minority association of predominantly African-American lawyers and judges.

Nevada Supreme Court

The Nevada Supreme Court regularly participates in LRE programs, in particular, Justice Nancy Saitta takes the lead on Law Day Live activities.

Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada

The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN) was founded in 1994 to bring together diverse and potentially competing organizations into one cohesive force for social and environmental justice in Nevada. Since 1994, the organization has grown from 12 original founding member groups to a current membership of more than 30 organizations. PLAN’s member groups receive the benefits of the program work of PLAN, support its mission, pay annual dues, and are entitled to appoint one voting representative to serve on the Board of Directors.

Project REAL

Project REAL is a nonprofit organization that helps teach children grades k-12 about the principles of democracy, the law and the responsibilities of good citizenship. Project REAL programs comply with state and county education standards.

Senior Citizen’s Law Project

Southern Nevada Senior Law Project (formerly known as the City of Las VegasSenior Law Project) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides free legal services to residents of Clark County who are 60 years of age or older.  Since its inception in 1978, the SNSLP has provided direct legal representation to more than 100,000 senior citizens in Clark County in such areas as: health care, estate planing, wills, Social Security, guardianship and elder abuse.

Washoe County Bar Association

This voluntary bar serves members in Reno and Sparks, Nevada.  WCBA has more than 1,300 members in Northern Nevada and has a mission of furthering professionalism, ethics and service in the practice of law.

Washoe County School District

The Washoe County School District is comprised of more than 60,000 students and serves the Northern Nevada cities of Reno and Sparks.

Young Lawyers Section

The Young Lawyers Section of the State Bar of Nevada helps younger lawyers adapt into the profession and focuses on training its members.  The Young Lawyers Section consists of attorneys who have been practicing in Nevada for less than five years or are 36 years-old or younger.  The Young Lawyers Section offers many activities for its member and participates in other LRE programs such as Goldilocks: The Trial of the Century and Law Day Live.
